Rental Cars
Use a rental car broker such as Auto Europe, Holiday Autos or Expedia to book your car from Geneva airport. You’ll be guaranteed the best deal and a good cancellation policy to boot.
While less convenient, it is usually cheaper to book cars from the French side of the airport, rather than the Swiss side. However, bear in mind that you will need to purchase a vignette when crossing the Swiss/French border, which can sometimes outweigh the initial cost saving. The drive is also a little confusing so for ultimate convenience, opt for the Swiss side when possible.
For some of our more remote properties, please remember to consider a 4x4 (and snow chains) for winter visits as it could make driving a little easier in the event of very heavy snow conditions.
Skyscanner - Flight Comparisons
The nearest airport is Geneva. It takes just over an hour to drive to Samoens. Search for the best flight deals on Skyscanner. In most cases, EasyJet and British Airways (or a combination of both) come out cheapest for flights from the UK.
Euro Tunnel - Car Shuttle between UK & France
For UK guests, we consider the Eurotunnel to be the most reliable transport method at the moment. It’s easy and convenient and saves the hassle of flying, car rental or airport transfers. It will certainly suit some families more. The drive from London (excl. shuttle time is around 10 or so hours. Plenty of coffee stops required along the way !
