We select every one of our chalets for individual qualities, quirks and charm. Our properties are available exclusively through Mountain People and we work closely with our owners to ensure the best possible experience for guests.
We have known Samoens for 25 years and watched it grow! Whilst we are London-based, we spend our time scouting Samoens for the best chalets and maintain strong relationships with our local partners and teams.
We’re always here to talk – making sure we look after each and every one of our guests in the same way, with great care and attention. We aim to please and to provide you with a unique mountain experience!
Welcome to Samoens, one of most beautiful historic towns in France. Situated in the heart of the Grand Massif domain, which links it to the neighbouring areas of Flaine, Morillion, Les Carroz and Sixt, it boasts hundreds of kilometres of downhill skiing, ski touring, trekking, mountain biking, climbing and phenomenal airspace for paragliding and hand gliding.
Samoens is an area of limited development meaning you will always find some time for quality peace and quiet. You may want to indulge in the town’s wide range of top restaurants, get hold of a bottle of the finest local wines or taste some real savoyard delicacies at the wednesday morning food market.
Not only is Samoens distinguished as one of the most beautiful towns in France, it is also the only ski resort in France to be classified as a national heritage site. Add to this some stunning views of Mont Blanc, fresh mountain lakes, vast waterfalls, national parks and unique alpine dwelling flora and fauna, and you have yourself an absolutely unique holiday experience for people of all ages and interests.
Alongside Mountain People, Sebastian has worked as an interior designer since 2012, having gained experience at an internationally-renowned design studio in Chelsea, London.
His first independent project was a ski chalet renovation in Samoëns followed by a full London renovation for a two bedroom apartment in Battersea. In 2017, a new project to redesign a ski chalet in Sixt-Fer-a-Cheval, involved re-configuring spaces and sourcing all new furniture, both to please the client’s taste and to add potential value to commercial holiday lettings.
Sebastian is passionate about interiors and design and enjoys working with his clients to achieve excellent results and adding value to rental properties.
The initial stage of a project requires a budget, time frame and general logistics to be defined. Once this has been established, we discuss the project in more detail – which rooms are being renovated, the theme and budget allocation for each space. Mood boards are created and presented to the client with examples of colours, textures, fabrics & furnishings. Digital floorplans are drawn up to illustrate any new design and furniture placements. At this point, we discuss likes and dislikes in order to refine the direction of the project. Once this has been finalised, we create a detailed buying list and send it to the client for approval. This list includes a room by room breakdown, itemising each chosen piece. Once these stages have been approved, we charge an initial deposit and begin ordering. After receipt of deliveries, we take care of the installation and work alongside local tradesmen to fit fixtures and fittings. At the end of the project, costs are re-calculated and the client is invoiced for the final balance, including any design fees as agreed at the start of the project.
