Description
Ferme Maison Neuve is a stunning 210 year old barn, that has recently been renovated to very high standard. From the outside, the chalet may look like a simple farmhouse, but once inside you’ll be amazed by the fine combination of old and new wood, charming original touches mixed with up-to-date practicality.
Situated in the charming village of Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval, just a few minutes walk from the beginner ski slopes in Sixt and the Ski bus connecting you to Samoens and the Grand Massif ski domain. Ferme Maison Neuve is in a perfect location for families wanting both stunning nature and authentic mountain atmosphere.
This charming chalet comfortably sleeps 10 in beds and upon request, we can also accommodate a further 1 - 2 guests in the first floor snug (small double sofa bed). All the main bedrooms are situated downstairs – there are four bedrooms including a master bedroom with en-suite bathroom. A further double bedroom, a twin bed room and a bunk-bed room and two family shower rooms. It also equipped with a small sauna.

Upstairs in the main living area, this majestic space provides plenty of original wooden beams, high ceilings and large windows offering views to the surrounding landscape. This open plan space contains a large, modern kitchen with a cooking and breakfast island, a separate dining table and seating area on either side of the glass fronted fire place.
Upstairs also houses a small snug, which can be used as an overspill bedroom (small double sofa bed), a workspace, or offering extra seating for anyone wanting to read quietly or play games. There is a separate laundry room and a WC.
The chalet is equipped with many board games, DVD’s and a television. Also available, is an electric car charger. It is a Elvi EV Box 10 kwh AC charger (additional fees apply - please select the option at the time of booking).

The chalet is now equipped with a 4G wifi device. Repeat guests will know the chalet previously had no wi-fi.
Guests are informed that the AV/TV can be somewhat complicated, but there are detailed instructions at the chalet and patience is rewarded with high quality vision and sound.
The chalet does not have a private garden or land as much of the land in Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval is communal. However there is a lovely private wooden balcony off the living space for outdoor dining/BBQ's and is surrounded by countryside that's available to use by all the residents.
A car is recommended to get around. However there is a ski bus stop nearby. It takes around 10 minutes to reach the ski lift in Samoens.
We are happy to provide guests with a baby cot (folding type) and high chair. However please note that it is not possible to install a safety stair gate due to the staircase design. We ask that guests acknowledge this fact and supervise children at all times.
The chalet is not wheelchair accessible. For those with reduced mobility, please note that there are stairs and steps within the property.

Location
Ferme Maison Neuve is located in ‘Maison Neuve’, near the centre of Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval. The location is perfect for privacy and to enjoy an authentic mountain experience. There are beginner ski slopes within walking distance or you may opt to take the ski bus to reach the principal ski domain.
It takes roughly 10 minutes by car to reach the high speed ‘GME’ lift connecting you to the Grand Massif ski domain in winter, which boasts some of the best skiing in the world. Suitable for all levels, there is over 275km of piste to explore and plenty of off-piste for more advanced skiers. In the summer, this area is a hub for adventure sports such as hiking, mountain biking, climbing and paragliding.

Samoens Centre: 6km; Ski Lift: 6km; Geneva Airport: 80km (1hr 15); Paris: 600km (6hrs+); London: 1,000km (12hrs+)
A car is recommended at this chalet, but not essential as there is a ski bus stop nearby. For non-driving groups, or those with a scattered arrival time, you may additionally opt for a transfer service directly from Geneva Airport, which will take you directly to the chalet. For bookings between November – April: The road is generally ploughed daily as required, but it is always a good idea to arrive prepared for heavy snow conditions. It is legal requirement in the French Alps to be equipped with snow chains and / or conforming winter tyres that specifically fit you vehicle.

Changeover day for the chalet is Sunday… However please ask if you’d like a different arrival day as we can sometimes be flexible
Security Deposit amount is €1,000 (or £1,000) – Payable by Bank Transfer before arrival
Rental payments can be paid in 2 instalments – a 30% deposit is required at the time of booking, the 70% balance will be due 60 days before arrival.
Pet Policy: We are dog-friendly and can accept up to 2 small/medium, well behaved & house trained dogs at an extra charge of €100. We ask that all furry guests are kept out of bedrooms and prevented from climbing onto furniture. All dog litter should be removed from exterior spaces (garden, porch, patio and green spaces around the property). Pets must be declared at the time of booking, with details including age, breed, size and temperament.
