“Built in 1756, Chalet Marllys is a charming modern gem of a chalet with stunning panoramic mountain views. Peaceful, cosy and beautifully designed, a stay here should not be missed!”

Chalet Marllys is a beautiful 18th Century renovation located just above Chantemerle, above Samoens. This Wonderful chalet is perfectly located just 12 minutes drive from the centre of Samoens and the ‘Grand Massif Express’ (GME) ski lift. From here, you can easily enjoy the historic village but also come ‘home’ and fully enjoy your own parcel of untouched dreamy mountain landscapes.

Families will fall in love with the cosy open plan kitchen / living / dining room, which features incredible mountain views out of every window and home chefs will relish preparing food in the sleek, well-equipped kitchen. For those who spent the day on the slopes, there is nothing quite like coming back and sitting in front of the crackling glass fronted fireplace, while watching snowflakes fall outside the large windows. 

The chalet provides accommodation for 9 guests in 4 well-proportioned bedrooms. The brand new bathrooms also include a jet bath to massage those sore ski limbs!

Chalet Marllys is a self-catered stay but we can put you in touch with the best local catering options for your consideration.

Pet Policy: We are dog-friendly and can accept up to 2 small/medium, well behaved & house trained dogs at an extra charge of €50. We ask that all furry guests are kept out of bedrooms and prevented from climbing onto furniture. All dog litter should be removed from exterior spaces (garden, porch, patio and green spaces around the property)

Children: We may provide a high chair, baby cot and stair gate upon request

Chalet Marllys is conveniently located only 6.5kms (12 minute drive) from the Samoens village centre and the high speed ‘GME’ lift connecting you to the Grand Massif domain, which boasts some of the best skiing in the world. Suitable for all levels, there is over 275km of piste to explore and plenty of off-piste for more advanced skiers. Simply step outside the door and you’ll be on a fantastic snow-shoeing / Nordic skiing route. In the summer, this house is a hub for adventure sports such as hiking, mountain biking, climbing and paragliding. 

The property sits on two acres of land, with 360 degree views to the Mont Blanc, down the valley, La Bourgouise, and Le Criou. A 10 minute drive uphill takes you to the Col de Joux Plane where you may enjoy cross-country skiing and sledding hills for children. It is a quiet, peaceful, and unique space. Perfect for families.


Reaching the chalet 

Distance from Geneva Airport: Approximately 80km (1hr 15 mins)

Distance from Paris (by road): Approximately 600km (6hrs+)

Distance from London (by road): Approximately 1,000km (12hrs+ including Eurotunnel)

By train: The nearest train station is the ‘Gare de Cluses’ (25 minutes drive away). However, you will need to organise transfers / rent your own car and snow chains as there is no public transport from the house.

Greeting Service: Our in-resort partners will be in direct touch with you in the weeks leading up to your arrival to assist with last-minute details and arrival plans. You will be met by one of the team who will make sure you are shown how everything works and answer any questions you may have about the area.


Vehicle Access

For bookings between November – April… The chalet is located at an altitude of approximately 1,200m, therefore we recommend that you have a 4×4 or at the very least, snow chains in your car. The road is ploughed 2 – 3 times daily but it is always a good idea to arrive prepared for heavy snow conditions. It is legal requirement in the French Alps to come equipped with snow chains that specifically fit you vehicle

Please be aware that you may not always be able to park directly in front of the chalet – in the event of very heavy snow.

Chalet Marllys is available to rent all year round… Email or give us a call for any further information

Changeover day for the chalet is Sunday… However please ask if you’d like a different arrival day as we can sometimes be flexible

Security Deposit amount is €900 (or £900) – Payable by Bank Transfer before arrival.

Rental payments can be paid in 2 instalments – a 50% deposit is required at the time of booking, the 50% balance will be due 60 days before arrival.
